Teacher Appreciation Week runs May 2-May 6th this year and this year, like every year, I wanted to give my sons’ teachers something truly special. They work so hard throughout the year and because I am a teacher myself, I strive to go the extra mile when giving them gifts. Whether you know it or not, most teachers are going above and beyond for their students. They come in early or stay later than they’re being paid or they’re taking papers home to grade. It’s just part of being a teacher. A well oiled classroom does not come without some extra elbow grease. What better way is there to say thank you and show your appreciation, than creating a handmade gift? Sewing a gift the teacher will love is sure to show them your thanks. With that in mind, I’ve gathered my favorite teacher appreciation gifts to sew.
All of these gifts are sure to please and it will mean that much more knowing their gift was handmade. Gifts that are useful or helpful in the classroom will bring a smile to any teacher’s face and are guaranteed to be used over and over again.
