I have a house full of boys. Which means I have a house full of Lego bricks and mini-figures. It’s all fine by me since it’s a toy they can all agree on and while I dread the inevitable sound of their giant Lego tub being dumped all over the floor, I’ll take the trade off for a few hours of quiet play. In celebration of this Lego mania, the youngest has asked to morph his superhero themed bedroom into one that’s more Lego focused. First up on this boy bedroom makeover is a Lego Mini-figure inspired pillow.
Do you have a Lego obsessed child? Here’s how to make a mini-figure inspired pillow.
– FREE PATTERN
– 1/2 yard fleece or sweatshirt fleece fabric
– Exaco Knife (affiliate link)
– Freezer paper (affiliate link)
– black fabric paint
– 100% Polyester Fiber Fill (affiliate link)
– coordinating thread
Once you’ve printed and cut the pattern piece, start by drawing your mini-figure face design onto a scrap of Freezer paper and cutting it out with an Exacto knife. Use black fabric paint. Allow to fully dry.
Place your two pillow pieces, right sides together and pin. Sew using a 1/2 inch seam allowance, back stitching at the beginning and end and leaving a 4 inch opening for turning. Make sure to pivot at each corner for a 90 degree angle at each corner.
Stuff the pillow using 100% polyester fiberfill.
Press the opening inward and slip stitch closed.
Pair your new Lego mini-figure inspired pillow with a few of these Lego Brick inspired pillows and you’re on your way to one bricked-out room.
