Minions make everything more exciting, baby. Am I right?
If you’re not quite sure how Minions fit into Summer, let me explain. They’re Minions and Minions are funny. AND their sunny, little bodies and cheery dispositions make us happy and Summer is all about keeping the family happy. Plus, the next Minion movie is coming out in July (squeeeal!) and I might just be more excited about it than my kids.
So, as I was going through our Summer Bucket List items, we (meaning, I) decided we needed to make a Minion bowling set. Because Minions being bowled into by another Minion, seems like something they’d do for fun.
Here’s what you need to make a set of your own.
– 6 to 10 Danimal Drinkable Yogurt containers (labels removed)
– yellow, blue, and black multi-surface paint
– white dimensional paint
– google eyes
– black yarn
– craft glue
– 1 yellow bouncy ball
– paint brushes, scissors, newspaper to cover work area
Once the labels are removed from each container, paint them yellow.
Once the yellow paint is dry, go over the bottom of each container with blue paint to make the pants/overalls. Add a blue square to the middle for overalls or a single strap.
Add one or two eyes to each bottle using the white dimensional paint. Also add one large eye to the yellow bouncy ball.
Use craft adhesive to add short pieces of yarn to the front of the container, creating hair.
Glue the google eyes to each container and then add black details such as google straps and pockets. You can choose to glue a google eye to the middle of the ball or paint on the iris.
Give them a good 24 hours to dry before playing as the dimensional paint, depending on how thickly it’s put on, takes a while to set. Once they’re dry, you’re ready to set them up and knock them down!
