Martha Stewart and Home Depot are teaming up this holiday season to Light Up America. The idea behind the campaign is to create something using Martha Stewart Living Christmas lights that represents the State in which you live. Since I’ve lived in 5 different States and 3 different countries, I some times find it hard to single out just one living destination but when I saw these LED Ultra Slim Wire Lights, I couldn’t stop thinking about all of the great holiday decoration nooks in my house that I’ve wanted to decorate with lights but can’t because there’s no outlet close enough. And THEN I started thinking about the gigantic box of European voltage lights that I have in storage that I can’t when we live Stateside and the fact that our next posting could land us in Asia or South America and I’d never use THOSE lights again.
So I figured trying out these LED lights that run on batteries couldn’t help. I put them on this adorable miniature Christmas tree I found at Home Depot and wrapped another strand around my wreath and was able to lighten up this corner space in my sitting room.
Here’s what I love about these lights:
1. LED means no need for an electrical outlet, which mean no need for an extension cord. Which means you can use these lights to decorate anywhere in your house.
2. Built in time. Hello! Once you turn them on, they’ll automatically turn off after 6 hours and then turn back on again the next day at the very same time.
3. Miniature. Need I say more. These lights are so delicate and dainty, and the wire almost invisible which means you can use them around a wispy ribbon and not fear a heavy, ugly looking, plastic wrapped wire standing out and ruining the aura.
I couldn’t love this space more! And with 120 hours of battery life, I’m sure these babies are going to be tied into ALL the holiday decorations for seasons to come.
