There’s just something about a little boy in a tie. A hint of the little gentleman we all hope will develop one day. I thought it was about time for C to get a few ties of his own.
I’m generally one who likes to give things a a go on my own, but since I knew I was in the mood to make many, it seemed pointless to reinvent the wheel. I found a great tutorial and free pdf pattern here.
And what I love, besides the fact that the photo tutorial was flawless, is that they are REAL ties. None of that elastic neck, velcro nonsense. I mean, don’t get me wrong, each has it’s place in the baby/toddler realm.
And I’d not saying the 6 year old is going to be able to tie his own tie, but it’s a valuable skill for boys to learn. Right up there with learning to tie one’s shoes. Which, by the way, we’ve yet to accomplish. It’s one of our summer goals. How about your family? Are you a bunny hole or an over, under, and around the tree fan?
